Brief Description - MEDIA RELEASE: HOUSE FIRE (Wed. Feb. 17, 2021) Today at 11:30 AM, Colonial Heights Fire and EMS along with Chesterfield were dispatched to the 4800 Block of Conduit Rd for a house fire. When fire units arrived, they found single family dwelling with heavy smoke showing. Once inside, fire crew located the fire in the kitchen. No one was home at the time. Crews were able to rescue the five dogs from the house. One cat was not able to be saved. Colonial Heights Animal Control was called the scene to assist the family. One firefighter had a minor injury and was treated on the scene. The fire was under control in about 30 minutes. The occupants are getting further assistance from family and friends. The cause of the fire was determined to be combustibles to close to the stove.
