Basic First Aid, CPR & AED Courses Offered

CPR Heart

Want to learn Basic First Aid, CPR & AED?  Sign up for classes to be held Saturday, April 22nd at the Colonial Heights Community Center.


CPR & AED:  For the Community & Workplace
Ages 16+

This course teaches the basic techniques of CPR and the use of an AED.  The course teaches how to recognize the signs of four major emergencies – heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, and foreign-body airway obstruction.  *Health restrictions apply:  if you have any of the following health issues, you will be unable to participate in this class – breathing problems, heart condition or back problems.  Price includes all needed materials.

Basic First Aid Course
Ages 16+

This course teaches lay responders the knowledge and skills necessary to give care in an emergency; help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives.  *Health restrictions apply:  if you have any of the following health issues, you will be unable to participate in this class – breathing problems, heart condition or back problems.  Price includes all needed materials.

These courses are provided by the Colonial Heights Recreation Department in conjunction with the Colonial Heights Fire & EMS Department.  For questions, contact the Recreation Department at (804) 520-9390.  Register for both classes and receive a $10 discount.
