The Colonial Heights Book Club was formed in April 1999 to promote the enjoyment of reading. Our club is open to any adult who loves to read and there are no dues or fees! We meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm to discuss the book club's latest selection.
Our next meeting will be Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 7:00 PM in the Conference Room at the Colonial Heights Public Library.

"The Ragged Edge of Night" by Olivia Hawker
WWII. Josef Anton Starzmann (aka Brunder Nazarius) a Catholic Friar has been forced to leave his order by the Nazis. So has his sister, Anita, Sister Bernadette. He moves to a small German town, Unterbhihingen, where he meets and marries Widow Elizabeth Hansjosten Herter. She has three children, Albert 11, Paul 9, and Maria 6. Anton joins the local priest, Father Emil at St. Kolumban's in a resistance against the Nazis. The story revolves around Anton learning to love and provide for his new family, and his need to protect them from the local gauleiter (Nazi sympathizer) Bruno Franke.
