A Colonial Christmas Dinner at Violet Bank
Mantles adorned with fresh greenery and fruit, softly illuminated by the below, crackling fire. A nearby table filled with roasted meats and vegetables. Young children anxiously awaiting the long-desired sweets and shortbreads; only to be savored on special occasions. Christmas looked familiar, yet different than we know it for Thomas Shore and his family in 1778. We invite you to come experience a Colonial Christmas at Violet Bank Museum this year. Step in to the foyer and back in time as you walk through the parlor rooms of this historic home and witness what Christmas may have looked like here, amidst the American Revolutionary War.
