CITY OF COLONIAL HEIGHTS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS 

FIRE HYDRANT FLUSHING SCHEDULE

The Utility Division of the City of Colonial Heights Department of Public Works will be testing and flushing FIRE HYDRANTS throughout the City starting August 11th, and continuing through October 10, 2025. 

The City will be divided into four sections. The sections and dates are as follows: 

SOUTHEAST SECTION: August 11, through August 22; east of I-95, from ELLERSLIE/YACHT BASIN, SOUTH, TO E. ROSLYN RD. Including Old Town Subdivisions. 

NORTHEAST SECTION: August 25, through September 5; east of CSX RR, from ELLERSLIE/YACHT BASIN, NORTH, TO SWIFT CREEK. Including Dunlop Farms Subdivision. 

NORTHWEST SECTION: September 8, through September 19; west of CSX RR, from NORTH CITY LIMITS, SOUTH TO OLD TOWN CREEK. Including Newcastle Subdivision.

SOUTHWEST SECTION: September 22, through October 10; west of I-95 from OLD TOWN CREEK, SOUTH, TO ARCHER AVE. 

Please mark the date on your calendar when Fire Hydrant flushing is planned in your area. The dates above are subject to change due to emergencies or adverse weather conditions. 

You may experience some discolored water between these times, if this should happen, first run the cold water in your bathtub for about 15 to 20 minutes, if your problem does not clear up within this time period please contact the Utilities Division 520-9393 between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM Monday through Friday. After hours or weekends call the Police Department 520-9300 and they will dispatch Utility personnel to your home or business.
