  • The City will charge a 2% fee for use of credit and debit cards for on-line and in person payments with the exception of payments to the Recreation & Parks Department which have a separate transaction fee.

    The 2% fee will apply to payments such as real estate tax, personal property tax, utility bill payments, and other transactions.

    No additional fee will apply for payments made by e-checks, checks, or cash.

    We accept Discover, Mastercard, and VISA.

  • Personal property taxes are due on June 5 and December 5. Real estate taxes are due on May 15 and November 15. There is no grace period for any of the due dates. Payments must be postmarked no later than these due dates to avoid penalty and interest.

  • All delinquent real estate parcels that are eligible for tax sale are turned over to James W. Elliott, Attorney at Law. He may be contacted at (757) 898-7000 for current information.

  • Annual Dog and Cat licenses go on sale November 1st and are due on or before Feb. 1st.

  • Effective March 14, 2018, the City of Colonial Heights no longer requires a city decal.  Residents must still register their vehicles with the Commissioner of the Revenue and pay a registration fee based on the weight of the vehicle.
