Colonial Heights Public Schools provide an outstanding education program for approximately 2,900 students. The system is composed of three elementary schools (K-5), a middle school (6-8), a high school, and technical center (9-12).

The Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for the Arts and Technology is located in Petersburg; however, qualifying students from the region are invited to take advantage of this unique educational experience for 9th through 12th grades.

Code RVA Regional High School - CodeRVA is an innovative, regional, public high school in central Virginia focused on preparing students for college and careers in computer science and coding.

Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School for Government and International Studies - MLWGS is an innovative public high school offering a comprehensive college preparatory program emphasizing government, international studies, science, mathematics, languages, and fine arts.  The school serves students selected on the basis of aptitude and interest in its mission.
